The Rights to Health, Survival and Development, and Health Services are addressed by the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Good health is essential for a child to develop fully and perform successfully in school and later on in life.
Save the Children República Dominicana-FUDECO’s health program has been developed to address three aspects that affect development and assures a better physical development for children and their families.
Nutrition

-Implementation of school, home and community gardens, for the production of fruits and vegetables.
-Implementation of sheep and goat modules for home and community for production of milk, cheese and meat.
-Implementation of poultry modules for eggs and chicken production.

-Training on prevention of contagious diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV/ AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) among others. Trainings are given on the handling of community first aid kits like also for immediate response procedures.
-Installation of first aid kits in communities.
-Promotion to establish closer relations between the community and health care providers and monitoring to treatment of diseases, general prevention and medical care.
-At school, de-worming, vitamins, and oral hygiene kits are distributed directly to children.
